In April 2006, I worked for a Professional Employer Organization that specialized in writing policies for construction companies.
This PEO, founded by industry pioneers, was great to work for, as they gave me the tools and training I needed to be successful. The construction industry was booming at that time, so we were all one big happy family.
Much to our dismay, the stock market fall of 2008 halted many construction projects. Forcing the difficult decision to lay off all of their salespeople. What was I going to do now, I thought?
The advice of famous motivational speaker Zig Ziglar struck a chord with me. He once said, “Sometimes adversity is what you need to face in order to become successful.”
Therefore, I set out on my quest to search out a variety of PEO companies. My goal was to have a network that would exceed expectations of each clients’ needs.
In 2008, I started Doc’s Leasing Service—doing the “boring” part of your job so you don’t have to. With each happy client, saving them up to 40% off their variable payroll costs, and providing the service they deserve, I realized my goal was being met.
